Work Ready Day
All S1,2 and 3 Moffat Academy students are participating in a Work Ready Day on Wednesday 18th September. This has been developed alongside DYW, who have organised many different employers and organisations to visit our school and show the students the many opportunities that are available to them.
All of S1,2 and 3 will be off timetable that day. Some of the activities are interactive and students should wear casual clothes that they can move around easily in and trainers.
The deadline for photograph orders to be handed in to school is 4pm today, 11 Sept. Online orders via Tempest will be open until Fri 13 Sept - postage and delivery to the school will be free for any online orders completed before Friday. Thank you.
Football Funds Quiz
We invite pupils, parents and members of the community to join us for a fundraising quiz on Thursday the 10th of October at 7pm. All funds raised will go towards costs for our school football teams. Raffle donations are very welcome - please drop off at the office.
Online Safety Workshops for Parents
Will you join us and help keep all children safe online?
O2 and the NSPCC have joined forces on a mission to help all children and their families in the UK stay safe online. Together, they’re offering useful tools, support and guidance to help parents and carers have conversations with their children about their online lives.
Online safety workshops for parents
As part of this, they’re running free online safety workshops for parents and carers and will be hosting one at Moffat Academy at 2pm on 25th September. We would like to invite all parents and carers from across our cluster to join.
The hour-long workshop will help parents and carers understand their child’s online world and build confidence to have those important conversations that can help keep children safe online.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. RSVP by replying to the text vote you will receive in due course.
Until then, if you need any support or guidance, check out the NSPCC website pages and step-by step guides online, call the O2 and NSPCC Online Safety Helpline on 0808 800 5002, or pop into your local O2 store for help from a Guru.
