Rookie Rockstars
Thank you to the amazing Rookie Rockstars for working with our pupils to produce a fantastic concert Thursday 5th September. Congratulations to Ben Little who won the cd design competition; our Rookie Rockstars CDs have all had Ben's design on the front. And well done to Maizie Warwick P6 for picking her mum Janine to compete in the family rap - she won first place with a fabulous rap version of Baa Baa Black Sheep!!
Annandale and Eskdale Road Relay Competition
On 1st October 2019, Moffat Academy took four teams to complete in a district running competition. Each team was made up of three runners who each ran one mile. The P7 girls race was first, our girls gave their very best in a highly competitive race and finished in fourth position. The P7 boys had trained very hard on the lead up to this competition and took a commanding lead from the start and were able to extend their lead throughout. The boys ran with great commitment and determination to win the trophy by a considerable distance. The P6 boys were not to be out done, demonstrating a fantastic attitude throughout a very close race also winning their competition. The P6 girls was the closest race of the day with the first three teams finishing within just 3 seconds of each other. Unfortunately, Moffat just missed out on the gold medals and picked up bronze on the day. Congratulations to all of the Moffat teams who represented themselves and their school in a fantastic manner.
Moffat Academy results:
P6 Boys (Large Schools) 1st Place
P6 Girls (Large Schools) 3rd Place
P7 Boys (Large Schools) 1st Place
Congratulations!

Maths Week
Primary classes took part in a 'Maths Trail' around Moffat 30th Sept-4th October looking at maths in our environment. Each class has produced an interactive maths board in the Primary corridor. Our Parent Council have acquired a grant to buy Maths board games for the pupils. It is hoped that the maths games can be used for further games afternoons or to run a maths game club after school and we are looking for interested parents to volunteer. Some parents have already been visiting to test out the games with pupils.
