Moffat Academy Fundraising & Social Committee

We are a group of parents, teachers and student representatives organising fundraising and social events to raise money for our children’s school. 

The events range from an evening playing chocolate bingo to an afternoon tea in the town hall, from a beetle drive to running a sponsored mile! We host annual events as well as one-off activities and all money raised goes towards purchasing equipment, subsidising school trips and a whole host of other ways that enhance our children’s educational experience. 

Previously through fundraising we have provided sporting equipment and uniforms, materials for classroom use, kindles for the learning support department, cameras for the whole school, games for the Maths department and merit book awards. 

School staff can make applications for particular projects, equipment or materials and we are delighted to be in a position to fund many of these, thanks to your generosity in supporting our events! 

We meet at the beginning of the school year to plan future events and thereafter we meet briefly to discuss jobs needing done for each. 

Currently we are in need of new members… 

We need more people on board to help with the fundraising. The meetings are held in the school meeting room alternately during the day and in the evening in the hope to accommodate different working patterns/childcare, etc. 

We don’t expect everyone to be at every meeting and we don’t expect you’d be able to help out at every event, however if you would like to offer your help in anyway we would be delighted to hear from you!
