Christianity in Scotland
The pupils in both P2/3 and P3 have been looking at where and when Christianity evolved in Scotland. We were lucky enough to have a visit from senior student Imogen Paterson, who has visited the island of Iona, and was able to give us an insight into her voluntary work there. We learned that St Columba and his twelve disciples arrived in Iona AD 563 where they founded a monastery and spread Christianity throughout Scotland and the North of England.
Iona has become a place of pilgrimage and has over 130,000 visitors each year. Imogen answered lots of our questions and shared her knowledge of Island life, school and wildlife.
It was such an interesting morning!
