Annandale and Eskdale Primary Schools Football Festival 2016 - Large Schools Competition Winners - Moffat Primary School

Annandale & Eskdale Primary Schools 7 aside Football Festival

Well done to Moffat Academy Primary for winning the Annandale and Eskdale 7 aside football tournament on Saturday 23rd April 2016.

They had a positive start with a 7-0 win against Eastriggs.  Throughout the game they showed excellent individual skills particularly from Ethan Notman and Dylan Bruce.  This game showed outstanding team work and a great deal of potential. There second game was against Hecklegirth and they had to show resilience after going a goal down in the early stages of the game.  A penalty helped Moffat equalise. Moffat kept calm and playing to their strengths using speed down the wings from Kit Armstrong and strong crosses into the box from Ben Johnstone they managed to score to take the lead.  Through determination and strong passing they ended up strong 3-1 winners.

They went on to beat Gretna 2-0 in a comfortable game where they had many chances but could not find the target.  The next game was against Lockerbie who were an extremely strong team.  The game was end to end with nothing in it, both teams strong in defence.  Moffat took a 1-0 lead half way through the game and through  commitment in defence from Scott Little, Kenan Jack and Oliver Reid in goals they manage to hold on to the lead.

Moffat grew in confidence as the tournament went on and this showed in their passing and movement on the pitch.  They went on to beat Elmvale 5-1 and Langholm 4-1 with strong performance from Ethan Notman, Taylor Jack and Ewan Notman.

Well done to Ethan Notman, Scott Little, Oliver Reid, Ben Johnstone, Kenan Jack, Dylan Bruce, Kit Armstrong, Taylor Jack and Ewan Notman who were an outstanding team with excellent attitudes throughout.  A special thank you goes to the kit man Jim Armstrong for carrying the kit up and down the pitch throughout the day, he did an outstanding job.
