S2 and S3 trip to Corehead - Outdoor learning and sustainability
S2 and S3 Biology and Environmental Science students had the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to a practical environment at Corehead.
Corehead is a community engaged, sustainable project integrating the restoration of native woodlands, wetlands and heathlands. It has become an educational resource demonstrating how biodiversity, ecosystem services and farming can thrive together.
The students sampled the ecosystem using quadrats, pitfall traps and kick sampling to investigate the abundance and variation of living organisms.
The students represented Moffat Academy very well with members of the Corehead community commenting on how responsible and confident our young people are.
