Moffat Academy Poppy Waterfall Ceremony

On Friday morning Moffat Academy pupils and staff commemorated the centenary of the end of World War One by participating in a remembrance ceremony in front of a poppy waterfall made by Secondary Art & Design pupils, Primary and Nursery pupils.

It was very touching experience to see youngsters from Nursery to S6 and local Moffat Veterans observing the two minute silence and listening to poems read by Ben Kerr, Molly Paterson and Katie McCulloch. The young people were impeccable as Lily Seddon played The Last Post and David McDonald played a lament on the pipes.

It was very fitting way to commemorate the 100 years that have passed since the guns fell silent on The Western Front.
