Our assembly was about our main class topic on Scotland. After preparing for the Burns Poetry Competition earlier this year, we started to feel more curious about Scotland’s history and the geography of our land. This led to our question, ‘what is Scotland’s story?’
We learned about the different regions and islands that make up Scotland, and then created a timeline to understand the influences that our country has experienced and the journey through history it has made. It was really interesting learning about the different groups of people who built our country and the way we live today. Creating and planning our assembly helped bring our learning to life, as we were in the role of the historical groups we learned about in class. Working as a whole class to prepare for our assembly was fun, and we felt really proud.
