There were shrieks of delight and some horrified faces when Zoolab visited P5/6 recently. Tristan brought in a range of animals to make links to Australian animals. We held cockroaches, a tortoise called Pancake and an albino corn snake called Ghost. We looked at a tarantula and a toad and stroked Daisy the hedgehog.
We learned that the Inland Taipan is Australia's most poisonous snake, the huntsman spider is huge, eats other spiders and runs very fast and that there are more cane toads in Australia than there are Australian people - mainly because they produce 72,000 babies a year and no predators will eat them.
We would recommend a visit from Zoolab to any class.
