World War II Assembly

Primary 6/7 have been learning about life in Britain during World War Two and the devastating effects the war had on so many lives.  Our Assembly included a variety of facts as well as some scenes including: Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain announcing that Britain was at war with Germany on 3rd September 1939; evacuation of children from cities to the countryside; and sheltering from bombs during the Blitz in an Anderson shelter.  We rounded off our Assembly with an ode to Glenn Miller, who was a popular big band musician from the time.
