The Ickabog by J.K. Rowling
This week, JK Rowling announced that she is publishing a brand new story, called 'The Ickabog', online. The story is going to be published incrementally, and is completely free.
We thought that lots of pupils (and parents!) would be interested in reading this story. We are going to upload learning materials for each chapter of the story for those who might be interested. This is not compulsory and it is not extra homework: it is suggested points for parents and pupils to discuss a story, should they wish to do so. It is not intended to involve any writing, but some pupils may wish to. It is also not intended to be laborious, and some pupils may wish to just read the story by itself.
What it is intended to do, though, is to to support both parents and pupils with reading during this challenging time. Finding some space in the day to complete some reading can be challenging but it is also incredibly rewarding. The Ickabog is most suitable for pupils between P.5 and S2, but it can be read and enjoyed by all ages.
The story is available at www.theickabog.com and our first instalment of learning materials are available on the PDF below.
