Promoting a healthy lifestyle

All S2+S3 pupils took part in an assembly focusing on making positive healthy lifestyle choices as a teenager. Yvonne McGregor, Health improvement worker for D&G delivered the information to our young people. The teenage body is going through many physical changes that need to be supported by a healthy, balanced diet. Here are some tips to keep healthy; don't skip breakfast, aim to eat at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables a day, cut down on food and drinks high in fat, sugar and salt, aim to drink six to eight glasses of fluids a day and try to get between 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Yvonne McGregor explained to our young people about the importance of good mental, social and physical wellbeing and the pupils had the opportunity to ask questions about the dangers of consuming energy drinks.
