LGBT Silver School Charter Award
Moffat Academy is the first and only school in Dumfries and Galloway to have achieved the LGBT Schools Charter at Silver level. Moffat Academy is sector leading in equality and inclusion.
Aim: The LGBT Charter of Rights ensures that staff and students in the Moffat community are included, valued and supported. The purpose of achieving this award is to ensure all young people feel happy, safe, respected and included in the school environment as per the guidance set out in Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC.

Moffat Academy were honoured to receive their award this morning from Kerry Riddell. Pictured are Head Boy and Ewan Pow and Catriona Hutchison, collecting the award on the schools behalf with Kerry Riddell and Miss Queen who was instrumental in our success in gaining this prestigious award.
Bake Sale and Presentation
Natasha Wood, Kezia Hughes, Sonny Chaudhry, Emma Carlisle, Robbie Crosby, Anna Beishuizen were involved in a school presentation and the organisation of a bake sale.
The purpose of the presentation and bake sale was to show support for the LGBTI community and stand against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.
